Your returnable bin
Our reusable bins remain the property of Fire and Stars Ltd. The one-time refundable deposit is separate from the price of your firewood: £40 for a 120L bin, £50 for a 240L bin, or £100 for two 240L bins.
The bin stays with you between deliveries. At your next agreed exchange, we collect your empty bin and replace it with a full one. Your deposit carries forward while you continue using the service; it is not charged again for an ordinary exchange. Keep the bin reasonably clean and take reasonable care of it.
Returning a bin and getting your deposit back
When you no longer need the bin, email firewood@fireandstars.co.uk or call 07709 188827. You can return it free of charge to Nethercote Woodland by arrangement. Optional collection within our local delivery area costs £10 per visit, agreed with you before collection.
We refund your deposit within 14 days of the bin’s return, using your original payment method unless we agree another method with you. Normal wear and tear does not reduce your refund. For loss or damage beyond normal wear, any deduction must reflect a reasonable, evidenced loss, rather than an automatic penalty. We will explain any proposed deduction and refund the balance. Contact us if you disagree so we can review it.
Cancellation of a subscription does not itself arrange collection of the bin. Please contact us to return it and receive your deposit refund. Your statutory cancellation and faulty-goods rights still apply.
